Enrollment figures for Japan’s public universities in 2022 are released

Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology announced the application status of the 2022 national and public university admission program on February 4, 2022.As of 10 a.m. on February 4, the last day of application, the application rate is 2.7 times for the early schedule, 9.1 times for the late schedule, and 12.1 times for the interim schedule.The final application will be announced on February 22.As of 10 a.m. on Feb. 4, 167,410 people applied for 63,579 national universities, which is 2.6 times the application rate.The number of applicants for the national college entrance examination was 113,265 out of 12,949, an 8.7 times ratio.The number of public (mid-term) students was 2,349, and 28,495 students applied, a 12.1 times ratio.The total number of Chinese public students (early, late and mid-stage) was 98,564, with 391,663 applicants, a 4.0 times application rate.In addition, the number of confirmed applicants in 2021 was 424,415, a 4.3-fold increase.According to the division system, the application rate is 4.1 times for humanities and Social sciences, 4.0 times for science and technology, 3.8 times for agriculture and Fisheries, 4.2 times for medicine and dentistry, 4.6 times for medicine and nursing, 3.1 times for teacher cultivation and 4.2 times for others.In addition, international Education University, Niigata Prefectural University, Riki University, and Art, Culture and Tourism Vocational College will not be included.
